In 1959, the first Seiko Alpinist (Seiko Laurel Aplinist)was introduced to meet the needs of mountain climbers. This model marked one of their first sports watch. Today, the new Seiko 1959 Alpinist Re-creation brings the original back to life. The large sized hours markers stand out from the gloss black dial.  Powering the the SJE085, is the 6L35 caliber with a 45 hour power reserve.  The watch is presented on a leather strap that has the same jagged stitch design as the original.
